PLEASE NOTE THIS CRITICAL POINT: For the CultureWorks Grants Program, “Innovation” refers to the process used in creating artworks, and/or the methods for presenting artworks, and/or the methods for engaging the audience. “Innovation” does NOT refer to the artworks themselves. The emphasis is on innovative ways of doing things – not on the innovative nature of the final products.
Projects eligible for Innovation funding are defined by imaginative ideas that stretch the boundaries of conventional thinking; use nontraditional collaborations or program design; utilize new technologies; or promote access for new audiences in ground-breaking ways. The concept of innovation may relate directly to the proposed project, organization, community or the general field.
