RVA Arts Events Happening In the Next Week-ish

"No Hay Banda" opens at Reference Gallery this Friday

Talk 20 is tonight from 6-9 at 1708.

The last in the series of Carlyon lectures will be tomorrow at 8 at Visarts.

Reference is set to open on Friday with a reception from 7-11.

Wednesday, October 14th, Collaborative Arts Group C3 will be holding a creative networking event at Savor Cafe from 6-8.

We Want To See... "Melissa PACA" at Metro Space and "The Peep Show" at Gallery 5

We dug out this old showcard of Mel's work that we had from cerca 2001 or 2002 (?). It will be nice to check out what she's been up to- be sure to check out this show at Metro Space Gallery tomorrow during First Friday.





Also not to be missed: Gallery 5's "The Peep Show," kicking off a busy month for the gallery which will culminate in the Carnival of 5 Fires, with ongoing events from October 30th through Nov. 1st.

We're especially excited about "The Peep Show," because it will feature work by gallery owner/artist Amanda Robinson AND work from a local favorite of ours, painter Amanda Blackmon.

VCU Alumni featured in WPA's "OPTIONS 2009"

The Washington Project for the Arts (WPA) curates a biennial show of emerging, unrepresented talent in the visual arts. Several recent VCU alumni will be featured in 2009's installment of "OPTIONS."

Congratulations to VCU alumni Leah Beeferman, Younseal Eum, and Andy Holtin for their selections by curator Anne Collins Goodyear.
